
Two men have escaped from a light plane crash in Victoria on Sunday
The Esqual plane crashed during takeoff at Wangaratta Airport at 10.30am
It is believed the plane’s engine failed and the left wing hit the ground
The pair were able to escape from the plane before it burst into flames
The pilot was taken to hospital for observation
Two men have escaped a fiery inferno after their light plane crashed during take-off at an airport in rural Victoria.
The crash happened on Sunday morning about 10.30am while the plane was taking off at Wangaratta, about three hours north of Melbourne, reported the Herald Sun.
A report from the said it’s believed the plane’s engine failed on take-off and the left wing hit the ground, which caused the plane to spin around.

The entire plane and a section of grass was burnt during the fire.
A spokesperson from Ambulance Victoria said the men appeared to be uninjured, but the pilot was taken to hospital for observation.

Both occupants of the plane were able to walk away before the aircraft burst into flames and was destroyed, along with a section of grass
The incident happened during the Wangaratta Aero Club’s open day.
