Olney, Illinois – June 8, 2026 – At approximately 3:35 a.m., Richland County deputies responded to a residence for a reported domestic disturbance. According to Illinois State Police, a deputy located Grove at the residence. Authorities said Grove failed to comply with the deputy’s commands, and the deputy deployed a laser, striking him.
Grove subsequently became unresponsive. Emergency medical services were requested, and the deputy began lifesaving measures. Grove was pronounced deceased at the scene.
